Temporary Lane Closure on Connecticut Avenue NW Begins June 6
(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to close one northbound lane of traffic on Connecticut Ave NW from L Street. to M Street starting after rush hour Wednesday, June 6. Two lanes will remain open to traffic at all times.
The closure is needed for the installation of a temporary WMATA cooling tower for the Farragut North and Dupont Circle Metro stations. Placement of the temporary cooling tower will close the lane through the fall.
WMATA plans to begin permanent repairs to the cooling system for the stations in late July. The repair work is scheduled to be completed this fall, weather permitting.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the work zone.
