Mayor Bowser Adds Additional Summer Camp Locations

Registration to Open for More Than 1,000 New Camp Slots for District Youth

(Washington, DC) – The Bowser Administration, DC Public Schools (DCPS) and DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) have partnered to offer new summer camp opportunities at eight schools, in addition to three DPR-based camps being added. Registration begins Monday, March 25, 2019 at 12 p.m.  

The 2019 summer camp season takes place June 17 – August 16, 2019. Most camps are offered 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day, but hours vary by program.

Through the partnership with DCPS, DPR will provide programming for Little Explorer and Discovery Camps for ages 3 to 10 years old at the following DCPS locations:

• Amidon-Bowen – 4011 St., SW
• Brent – 301 North Carolina Ave., SE
• JC Nalle – 219 50^th , SE
• Miner – 601 15^th, NE
• Simon – 401 Mississippi Ave., SE
• Watkins – 420 12^th, SE
• Seaton – 1503 10^th, NW
• Moten – 1565 Morris Rd., SE

Additionally, DPR is adding the following camps:

• Basketball Camp at Lamond Recreation Center (Ages 8-13 yrs.)
• Cheer Camp at Arthur Capper Recreation Center (Ages 5-12 yrs.)
• REC Camp at Benning Park Community Center (Ages 6-13 yrs.)

Note:  Enrollment is subject to availability.  Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Reduced rates are available for qualifying families, as well as before and after care at most locations.

• Click “Summer Camps” image
• Browse location and program type
• Select a program, add to cart, and proceed to checkout
