WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, November 26^th, Ad Hoc Committee Chair Mary M. Cheh (D-Ward 3) received communication from Mr. Jack Evans indicating that he will not be appearing before the Ad Hoc Committee on Tuesday, December 3^rd.  Mr. Evans’s legal team, Abbe David Lowell of Winston & Strawn LLP and Mark Touhey of BakerHostetler, have also submitted an additional letter addressing the substance of the Ad Hoc Committee’s investigation.

Both letters are included as one attachment on this notice and will be posted on the Council’s Ad Hoc Committee page at: https://www.dccouncil.us/ad-hoc-committee-on-cm-evans/.

The Ad Hoc Committee’s December 3^rd meeting will focus on whether the Committee should pursue further independent inquiry in Mr. Evans’s conduct, consider which specific violations it believes Mr. Evans committed, and recommendations for disciplinary action. The meeting will begin at 12:00 p.m., or immediately following the Legislative Meeting and Additional Meeting of the Committee of the Whole, if any, in Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
