What an idiotic article. Hardy isn’t the only DC public school that needs field space. The student bodies of Hardy (which has 40% poor students) and Maret (which has 75% of its families paying full tuition of 40K) are not equivalent. Nothing is going to make it ok that Maret is paying just $95k/year to use a public facility while DC. Too bad the author had no interest of exploring the issue of why DC public procurement allowed the awarding of the public field to Maret without undergoing a public consultation process.
