Undergraduate and graduate students can submit applications through March 20

(Washington, D.C.) –Today, the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) Research Internship Program and Howard University’s Transportation Research Center (HUTRC) announced the 2020 Research Internship Summer Program. This internship is open to full-time undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing from the region and/or nationwide to work on research projects at DDOT. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 27 at 11:59 pm ET.

The internship program creates opportunities for students to earn practical research experience and allows DDOT to conduct research into transportation-related topics that further its mission. HUTRC recruits the interns and manages the program on DDOT’s behalf.

The summer internship program is scheduled to run for at least 10 weeks starting Monday, June 1, 2020. Students will be located at DDOT Headquarters at 55 M Street SE, Washington, DC 20003. These are hourly, paid positions with a maximum of 40 hours a week with no paid vacation, no paid sick leave, and no overtime. All students are required to have basic computer skills, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Interested persons should visit hutrc.org/internships and follow the instructions on the website. Interns should identify the position for which they are applying and include their current Grade Point Average (GPA). (Undergraduates should have a minimum 2.5 GPA.) No phone calls, please.
