WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) thanked the United States Postal Service (USPS) today for its quick response to her inquiry concerning signage on the door of the Dorothy Height Post Office in the District of Columbia. On Tuesday, Norton informed Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan that the decal on the door of the Dorothy Height Post Office mistakenly read “Dorothy Heights,” adding an “s” to the end of the name. Today, USPS informed Norton that a new decal has been ordered and that the existing decal will be removed, with temporary signage posted until the new decal arrives.

“As the Member of Congress who introduced the legislation that named this post office after the Godmother of the Civil Rights Movement, I appreciate that the United States Postal Service is promptly attending to this matter,” Norton said. “I am pleased that we can continue to properly recognize the important legacy of Dorothy Height.”
