Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D) declared a public health crisis and closed school buildings to students. The past year has devastated our community in Anacostia. Still, at Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter School, we’ve worked hard within the restrictions to meet our students’ basic needs. We sent students home with technology, books and materials. We’ve delivered meals to students at their homes.
