WASHINGTON, D.C., August 12, 2021 – The D.C. Council’s Redistricting Subcommittee today released a new informational website on the District of Columbia’s 2021/2022 redistricting process. The website, https://www.elissasilverman.com/redistricting, includes a Q&A that addresses many of the Frequently Asked Questions about redistricting. You can also find a timeline of expected redistricting milestones, along with links to helpful resources.
Also today, the Census Bureau released initial local-level data in a non-user-friendly “legacy” format, a few weeks before the general data release. This data will be “cleaned up” by the District’s Office of Planning and will be made available through a user-friendly redistricting website in September.
Councilmember Elissa Silverman (I-At-Large) is the chair of the Council’s Redistricting Subcommittee, and is available for comment following today’s data and website release.
