WASHINGTON, D.C. –– Tomorrow, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will hold a virtual Black History Month Event, titled “Freedom Singers: Then & Now,” highlighting the historical impact of music on the Civil Rights Movement and its continued influence on modern day activism. I really enjoyed being a part of this panel. Such astute and dedicated wonderful participants. And yes I think a symposium virtual or otherwise of some sort between young folks making music and young elders who have been in this business for a minute writing and singing music that has a message to it. That would be great to see that happen. Anywhere
