Council enacted the Neighborhood Engagement Achieves Results (Near) Act establishing a comprehensive blueprint for a public health approach to preventing violent crime in D.C. With the District, like many other parts of the country, experiencing a spike in crime and violence, it is fair to ask whether the city is on the right track.
