(WASHINGTON, DC) – Next week, Mayor Muriel Bowser will kick off her Administration’s annual series of Budget Engagement Forums as part of #FairShot February. For the ninth year in a row, the forums will give residents the opportunity to share their values and priorities with the Mayor before she sends her Fiscal Year 2024 budget to the Council.

The first budget engagement forum is a TeleTownhall specifically for seniors that is scheduled for Wednesday, February 8. The second and third budget engagement forums will be held in-person on Thursday, February 9 at Jackson-Reed High School, and Saturday, February 11 at Eastern High School.

At the forums, residents will receive an overview of the current budget environment, hear from other residents about their priorities, and participate in small group discussions about how the Mayor should allocate funds.

Since launching the Budget Engagement Forums in 2015, Mayor Bowser has used public feedback to make key budget decisions.

The three upcoming budget forums will give residents the opportunity to submit their budget priorities for FY24 and learn more about the budget process.
