Just two days after the DC Council gave final approval to the District’s deal with Monumental Sports & Entertainment to modernize Capital One Arena, Mayor Muriel Bowser today took part in a ceremonial “hammer swing” to mark the official start of construction, slated to take place in six phases through summer 2027.
