In response to President Donald Trump’s remarks last night reiterating his campaign-trail calls for the federal government to take over the DC government, Mayor Muriel Bowser today challenged the idea that local leaders aren’t up to the job and said the limitations of home rule mean that District remains vulnerable absent statehood.
