But in an era where students are challenging the icons of American history, none of that was lost on the Hamilton stage. Across the United States, the cast of Hamilton has given students from high needs schools the opportunity to take the stage and express history in their own way. In D.C., the performance took place at the Kennedy Center. Students from D.C. high schools produced poetry, raps, songs and other forms of art in front of a crowd of thousands, mostly students from D.C. but also a few from Virginia and Maryland.
