Press Release: DDOT to Open Mid-Year Permit Application for Point-to-Point Carsharing Operators

(Washington, DC) —Today, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced that it will reopen the 2019 Point-to-Point Carsharing Permit Application to new operators to expand mobility options in the District. The mid-year application will open beginning Monday August 5, 2019.
Successful new applicants will be permitted to operate up to 600 vehicles between September 1 through December 31, 2019. Successful applicants will be subject to the updated permit terms and conditions, including quarterly fleet increases and reporting requirements. Existing operators also must apply for the mid-year permit. All point-to-point operators will be required to reapply to operate in 2020.
Applications will be reviewed, considered, and awarded on a rolling basis. Any application received after October 31, 2019 will be considered under the terms and conditions required for 2020 operation. The 2019 Point-to-Point Carsharing Permit Application along with instructions, sample Terms and Conditions agreements, and the required data-reporting template, will be made available on DDOT’s website ahead of Monday, August 5, 2019.
