Washington Post: D.C. kicks off the school year with a new school — and more choices

The Allston family had about 40 public high schools in the District to choose from for their daughter, Taylor. There was the computer-science-focused charter school that Taylor’s friend was interested in, as well as the application schools in the traditional public school system that already have strong reputations.
