WASHINGTON, D.C. – The District of Columbia Board of Elections (DCBOE) reminds candidates and voters that nominating petition forms for the June 2, 2020 Primary Election will be available for pick up on Friday, January 10, 2020.
Petitions for the offices listed below may be obtained at 1015 Half Street SE, Suite 750 until Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 5pm, the final day to submit nominating petitions to the Board.
- Presidential Nominee
- Delegate to the United States House of Representatives
- At-large Member of the Council of the District of Columbia
- Ward Member of the Council of the District of Columbia – Wards 2, 4, 7, and 8
- United States Senator
- United States Representative
- National and Local Party Committee Members for the Democratic, Republican, and Libertarian parties
Details regarding the number of signatures required for each contest can be found on the June-2-2020-Primary-Election-Calendar.
Individuals and organizations proposing ballot measures and potential candidates running for office will have the option of collecting signatures electronically using the eSign mobile application. The eSign app, which will be available for download on iPads or pre-loaded iPads provided by DCBOE, allows petition circulators to confirm that a signer is a registered voter through a private, secure database. eSign is not required to collect signatures; the traditional pen and paper process is still available.
The District of Columbia Board of Elections is an independent agency of the District government responsible for the administration of elections, ballot access and voter registration.
