Overnight Closure of Monroe Street NE Bridge Rescheduled for June 24
(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close the Monroe Street NE Bridge to motorists in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 2:30 am until 5:30 am, weather permitting.
This work was rescheduled from the early morning hours of June 23 due to expected weather conditions.
This closure is necessary to complete pier column concrete placement as part of the ongoing reconstruction project. The sidewalk will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists during the lane closures.
Motorists will be detoured to Michigan Avenue NE and 10th Street NE. DDOT will provide flaggers and signage to guide traffic around the work zone and maintain public safety.
Motorists should expect delays and are advised to stay alert when traveling through this area.
