This is the year to spur the future housing affordability in the District of Columbia. The comprehensive plan amendment guiding development, along with the District’s policy direction, for the next several years will come before the D.C. Council in the spring. Meanwhile, Mayor Muriel Bowser’s administration will shortly issue new initiatives, solutions and recommendations for overcoming the barriers as part of her goal to build 36,000 new housing units by 2025.
