LinkLinks DCist: Police in D.C. make arrests after sweeping peaceful protesters from park with gas, shoving By Editor On Jun 2, 2020 Last updated Jun 2, 2020 25 Share Hundreds of protesters were swept out of a park near the White House on Monday evening, where they were protesting the killing of George Floyd, as President Trump spoke in the Rose Garden a short distance away. The National Guard set off explosions and fired sting balls and gas into the crowds before pushing those gathered out of Lafayette Square shortly before a 7 p.m. curfew announced by D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D) earlier in the day. 25 Share FacebookTwitterReddItWhatsAppEmailPrint
