Media Contacts Terry Owens Lauren Stephens DC Streetcar to Adjust Evening Service Hours for Pepco RepairsStreetcar Service Will Temporarily Shift to Support Utility Work on H Street NE (Washington, DC) – Today, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced service hour adjustments for the DC Streetcar to accommodate evening utility work by Pepco. The work will begin on Sunday, July 29 and will take place Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings for approximately four weeks, expected to conclude byThursday, August 23. During this time streetcar service will end at 9:30 p.m. on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Hours of Operation During Pepco Work (July 29 – August 23) – Sundays: 8am – 9:30pm (abbreviated service) – Mondays: 6am – 9:30pm (abbreviated service) – Tuesdays: 6am – 9:30pm (abbreviated service) – Wednesdays: 6am – 9:30pm (abbreviated service) – Thursdays: 6am – midnight (normal service) – Fridays: 6am – 2am (normal service) – Saturdays: 8am – 2am (normal service) On Sundays during this temporary service shift, the last westbound streetcar vehicle will depart the Oklahoma Ave stop at 9:13 pm and the last eastbound vehicle will depart Union Station at 9:24 pm. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays during the temporary service shift, the last westbound streetcar vehicle will depart the Oklahoma Ave stop at 9:01 pm and the last eastbound vehicle will depart Union Station at 9:36 pm. There will be no changes to the last vehicles in service on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Pepco and DDOT coordinated to identify minimal schedule adjustment during this period. Pepco will be performing overnight work to enhance the local grid in the area of H Street NE between 11th and 14th Streets NE to improve reliability and performance for customers in that area. These activities involve accessing manholes near the streetcar tracks and will require the streetcar to cease operations. Parking restrictions will apply in the specific block being serviced each night. Schedule changes will be communicated throughout this temporary service change.
