Police Were Forced To Rehire More Than Three Dozen Officers Accused Of Misconduct, Auditor Finds By Editor On Oct 6, 2022 Last updated Oct 6, 2022 73 Share The Metropolitan Police Department was forced to rehire more than three dozen officers it tried to fire between 2015 and 2021 — and those rehirings led to the District paying those officers $14 million in lost wages, according to a new report from the D.C. Auditor. The rehired officers include an officer who had been fired three separate times and been arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, and an officer who was found guilty of simple assault in court. 73 Share FacebookTwitterReddItWhatsAppEmailPrint
