In conjunction with its first Code Purple air quality alert in decades, D.C. is advising residents to shelter indoors– a refrain all too familiar after the COVID pandemic. But not everyone has the luxury of having a place to shelter, with many homeless residents feeling the brunt of the hazardous air.
