On a day that resembled a London scene in a James Bond movie, hundreds came out to L’Enfant Plaza for the opening day of the new International Spy Museum.

The International Spy Museum will reopen Sunday in a new building twice the size of its original location, and its founder hopes it will also bring in twice the number of people.

One of the first objects visitors will see when they enter the International Spy Museum’s new L’Enfant Plaza location is a weapon. An Amber drone, a precursor to the widely-used Predator drone of today, hangs from the lobby’s ceiling.

Centuries of espionage, including its cloistered history, images and tradecraft, are set to go on display in D.C. on May 12.

After closing its doors in Penn Quarter on New Year's Day, the International Spy Museum has returned with more than 7,000 new artifacts in a new 140,000-square-foot facility.

The new and imposing museum hopes to draw crowds and establish a new cultural hub in the District.
