Logan Circle Main Street Launches
(WASHINGTON, DC) October 17, 2018 Logan Circle Main Street is pleased to announce it has been awarded the FY19 DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSBLD) Main Street grant of $175,000 to support and engage with the local small businesses along the 14th Street corridor. This opportunity has been made possible thanks to the leadership and vision of Mayor Muriel Bowser, Council Member Jack Evans, and Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2F and Chairman, John Fanning.
Mr. Fanning, Chairman of the Board of Logan Circle Main Street said, “After years of commercial, residential and small business development on the 14th Street, NW corridor the Logan Circle community we will now have a program that will support the retention of our small business community. By offering programs and additional services along the 14th Street NW corridor.”
Jim Abdo, founder of Abdo Development, an instrumental partner shared, “Abdo is committed to the economic vitality of the 14th Street business corridor and the success of the public/private partnership known as Logan Circle Main Street. When we work together, everyone succeeds.”

Dominique and Anna Landragin, who own Cork and Fork on 14th Street since 2008, welcome the initiative.
Knowing the success of Main Street initiatives, Martin Smith, Executive Director of Barracks Row Main Street and the fiscal agent for Logan Circle Main Street for the first year said, “Each year thousands of jobs are created, new businesses opened, and the city earns surplus tax revenue to sustain Main Street grants.”
DC Main Streets, a program of the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), serves as the citywide coordinating program that provides services and funding for the now 18 Main Streets programs found in Washington, DC. The mission of these 18 programs is to revitalize communities by retaining and recruiting businesses, improving commercial properties and streetscapes, and attracting consumers.
